Documents You May Need

Having these documents ready can speed up your application and pre-approval. Exact requirements vary by loan type and situation — your loan officer will confirm what's needed.

Identity & Personal

  • Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport)
  • Social Security number (entered into secure lender portal only)
  • Previous addresses for the past 2 years

Income & Employment

  • Recent pay stubs (last 30 days)
  • W-2 forms for the past 2 years
  • Federal tax returns for the past 2 years (if self-employed or required)
  • Employer contact information
  • Profit & loss statement (if self-employed)

Assets & Finances

  • Bank statements for the past 2–3 months (all accounts)
  • Investment or retirement account statements
  • Documentation for any gift funds used

Property & Purchase

  • Signed purchase contract (if available)
  • Property address and listing information
  • HOA documents if applicable
  • Real estate agent contact information

Refinance (if applicable)

  • Current mortgage statement

VA Borrowers
